1/6/23

I did an afternoon shift and planted out the sweetcorn. It’s nothing like as big as it has been in previous years, but did at least have some roots. Hopefully the new bed will provide food and get them going. The robin followed me all over the place and took at least some ant eggs from the disturbed nest in Bed 9.

I’ve put all my leeks on the compost heap. They’re just a month younger than Mr. B’s, that’s all really.

Nasturtiums have gone in at the back of the trellis bed. One’s in a pot on the bug hotel – no doubt that’ll die pretty quickly – and there’s one near Plum Corner too.

I’ve put zinnias in between the runner beans and in the middle of Bed 3.
