I did the English thing and went out in the midday sun to work. After the deadheading round, I edged and weeded the beetroot and cucumber beds. Fairly easy work fortunately, though intricate, as these beds are basically where I ran out of energy earlier in the year, absolutely done in, tipped the compost on top and put the seeds in that. Finally the thistles that were starting to take over are gone. I also did my best to do as much as I could sitting, rather than squatting, so as not to anger my sciatica.
