After a bit of photography, I cut down the lemon balm by the obelisk, right down to the new growth at the bottom. I’ll be cutting down the rest, as well as the mint soon, so the bin at home will smell lovely!

I worked my way along, doing bit of weeding and found myself looking at the grass coming through the fence along the front. I cleared out the grass behind the mint and then went outside to cut and pull all the matted lumps of grass out from the fence. Pretty hard labour, so I left the fence to the left of the gate for another day.

You can see how parched the grass is on the outside of the fence, where the tree is sucking up all the water.
