With some vouchers about to run out, I went to the garden centre and picked up the first 3 bags of manure for the winter. The potato beds are still weed free, so there’s no point in not getting on with covering them. Amazingly, when we went down to unload the bags behind the shed, the beanpole was still standing! We found one or two more beans on the other bean bed, but I think that one’s done now, so it can go on the to do list to remove.
