I went down to the plot to check on things and possibly do a little weeding, but Braeburn corner was still covered in frost and the ground was too frozen hard to do anything. The ledge does need weeding, but will have to wait.

I brought one rotten ornamental gourd and the unopened Turks Turban back from home to go in the compost bin. Up in that corner I conceded defeat to the blackbirds and turn the bug hotel upright to stop them pulling everything out.

Water that had pooled here and there on top of the plastic sheets was frozen. Around the borders I counted 9 alliums coming up front and right. I’m not sure what some other things are, I’ll have to wait and see, but so far the verbena has survived the cold. That made huge plants last year having come from tiny little plugs that arrived in the post.
