After tea, I went down to the plot to pick a few tomatoes and runner beans. There was also plenty of deadheading to be done. The cornflowers are still going very well, so I hope this is at least partly down to all my labour!

On the watering round, I also discovered that the little physalis at the front has quietly grown some fruit. It’s a very short plant, but the best of those dotted around the plot. I should give it some fertiliser next time I feed things.
