The plan to go down to the plot for a small shift each day after work was blown up by last weekend’s rash turning out to be shingles. Yay. I am determined to power on through and not lose the bank holiday weekend though.

There’s been some rain this week, which dampened the soil very nicely and made some weeding possible. I went round the whole plot while I was there and snapped off as much mare’s tail and bindweed as I could and ripped up overgrown grass edges pretty well too. Tomorrow I want to get straight on with productive jobs. The first of which is putting up the bean wigwams – so first thing will be to make a path through the daisies to get to the canes!
