We had some rain last night and I went down to feed everything in the evening.

I’m still waiting for some obvious gourd development on the Turks turbans, but did discover that one of the vines has made it all the way over to the corner diagonally opposite.

I spied – and heard a wasp peeling wood from the fence post by my shed. Too slow to get the wasp in the photo, but on closer inspection it clearly wasn’t its first visit!

At the gate is a bit of proof that deadheading the nigella does lead to more flowers, but they’re just little ones, low down. So it’s a toss up between nuisance deadheading that needs to include a bunch of stalk, not just popping the seed head off, and just pulling them up after the first flowering.
