My lawn edging arrived and though it has a 5 year guarantee I gave it a coat of my wood preserver – and there’s still some left in the can! I took them down to the shed and had another look at the pear and plum, which I never got around to pruning last autumn. I took off a few particularly pokey branches from the plum, but the pear’s buds had burst, so nothing can be done now. It looks ok though, nothing going the wrong way and not too crowded. I’ll just have to be sure to prune it this autumn.
