Rain keeps being forecast and not turning up. The ground is getting very hard and difficult to work. Frost is forecast for tomorrow morning so we went down and covered the veg bed with the green fleece that I got for putting under the compost bins. Hurray for already having something handy in stock! We kept it above the seedlings with staples and then pinned it down at the edges with more staples. The Braeburn blossom will have to take its chance as it’s too big and tucked away to handle. We watered underneath it in case that makes any difference to the soil temperature.
