JBM and I went down to do another high shot of the plot. It’s been six weeks since the first one, when the trellises and new gate were freshly installed.

It absolutely poured with rain last night, with a huge thunderstorm that broke the gazebo at home. At the plot, everything survived and somehow nothing was beaten down or broken. The tomatoes are leaning, but only under their own weight of fruit.

I’d left the buckets out for the rain and gathered a total of 9 litres. That’ll be useful during next week’s heatwave.

I did my first big harvest while I was there and picked the first tomatoes and the first runner bean. Usually the first runner bean is little, but this one’s huge! The other beans keep on coming too, they’re great.
