The plot looks very autumnal all of a sudden: beds emptied of their crops and now filling up with weeds. Braeburn corner’s Michaelmas daisy looks amazing at the moment though.
I cut and unwound all the runner bean vines on the big netting. Mum and Dad appeared later and helped out with the ones out of my reach, so in the end the job was completed rather than half-done by lunchtime. I’m trying to do the autumn clear up in a gentle way – it’s still pretty early, so there’s no great rush to get everything covered yet.
