Together Mum and I moved out the compost bins, one empty, one already in use and pulled up the bindweed. We found and ousted 17 slugs in all. Then we put a couple of layers of the new material down, weighed them down at the corners and put the bins back, refilling the back one and giving it a good turn in all in one.

After that it was back to pulling up all the mare’s tail and bindweed I could. The verbena is looking good and the flower beds in general are doing well.
