I discovered that one of the peppers had a little hole in it and so I harvested it to get a closer look. A bit of reading showed that it had been made by a yellow maggot fly, which makes a hole in the fruit to lay its eggs, the hole then grows with the growth of the fruit.

Cutting the fruit open showed that it didn’t really look particularly healthy inside – and that the fruit needs to be a bit bigger to be worth eating, otherwise it’s all seeds.
