I went to Wyevale and bought lots of bulbs, my main criterion being that none of them would need to be dug up after flowering. I ended up with a variety of alliums, anemone, ranunculus, freesia and grape hyacinth. A good number of what I chose will actually flower late spring, early summer when I’m actually there.

I did some watering and weeds are staying down in tended beds. The gourds are all ok and the chrysanthemum and nigellas have had a little resurgence. I picked a path around the back of the apple tree to straighten the Michaelmas daisy, which blew over in the wind left over from the Atlantic hurricane.
