I weeded all the way along from the apple tree to the point of the triangle, including getting the bramble out from in front of the apple tree. I haven’t shifted the obelisk yet, so there’s still a little mess of grass and those enigmatic bear’s breeches under there. I managed to reduce some of the lemon balm, but it’s very hard to dig up. Whereas the mint comes up pretty easily.

At the point of the triangle the stump started crumbling when my fork hit it. A good armful of pieces are now on the compost heap.

I covered the ledge with compost and so that’s now done for the year.
