We delivered 9 bags of compost to the plot today, so I have about 12 now. They were only £3 at Wyevale – which is no longer Wyevale, but something else.

Mr P had evidently been in and scored the big elder in the corner, as discussed a while back. When in full leaf it drains so much water from the ground that nothing else has a chance in the corner of my plot and in his. I don’t feel 100% happy about killing it and it’s clearly going to be an ordeal to get rid of it.
